Bute Fabrics at The Stockholm Furniture Fair 9-13 February 2010

Bute Fabrics, the Scottish contemporary textile manufacturer, will be showing the full colour range of Galloway, an exciting new stretch fabric which was previewed at Stockholm last year.

Galloway is a unique wool and silk mix fabric, with 15% stretch in oth wrap and weft that adapts wonderfully to modern furniture shapes, pushing the barriers of creative possibilities to suit all shapes, forms and uses. This new range features twenty colours, including bold bright and subtle tones but can also be dyed in custom colours for as little as 50 metres. As Galloway is piece-dyed, the lustrous silk neps dye a lighter colour to the matt wool, giving a highlighted sparkling effect, and accentuating the pebble-like texture. In addition, Galloway is highly durable, reaching 100,000 rubs on the Martindale, making it practical for a wide range of applications, from domestic to contract use.

Our textural fabrics including the ever popular Tweed with its multi-tonal neps, the giant luxurious boucle Storr designed with Tom Dixon and the smaller sophisticated boucle Tiree, as well as our refined worsteds Iona, Argyll and Kilmory can all be seen on our stand.
